The ERICC Helpdesk exists to provide actionable, evidence-backed advice to maximise meaningful change through your educational programmes and policies.
Drawing on the knowledge and experience of local and international experts across 40 topic areas, the Helpdesk translates research into recommendations you can use. Our services support you in developing, understanding, and applying research, with service topics including evidence analysis, programme analysis, measurement and impact evaluation support, research support, and value for money analysis.

HELPDESK PROCESS
Request Submission
A request for support developing, understanding, or applying research is submitted using the request form online.
Confirmation
The requester will receive notification and confirmation of their request within 48 hours.
Scoping Call
The Helpdesk team will facilitate a scoping call with the requester to determine specifications, context, timeline, and expectations.
Terms of Reference
The Helpdesk team will draw up Terms of Reference and a brief of deliverables for request fulfilment.
Assignment Resumes
The Helpdesk team will draw on our pool of experts to allocate the assignment and prepare a response.
Quality Assurance & Production
All deliverables will be quality assured before final deliverable production and presentation to the requester.

What services are available from the Helpdesk?
A wide range of services are available to support Education Advisers in developing new research, understanding existing research and evidence, and applying evidence to programmatic challenges.
In response to requests for new research, the Helpdesk conducts small-scale follow-up research, utilising methodologies such as focus groups or phone surveys to deepen understanding of current contexts.
To enhance understanding of existing evidence, the Helpdesk offers services including evidence reviews and synthesis, monitoring and evaluation support, research capacity sharing, costing and value-for-money services, among others.
For support in making evidence-based programmatic decisions, the Helpdesk translates research into actionable advice for the design, implementation, scaling, and evaluation of programmes.

ERICC is a global research and learning partnership that strives to transform education policy and practice in conflict and protracted crisis around the world — ultimately to help improve holistic outcomes for children — through building a global hub for rigorous, context-relevant and actionable evidence base. Who is eligible to use the Helpdesk?
FCDO Education Advisers are able to request and receive support from the ERICC Helpdesk. In order to submit a request, you will need an account to log-in. If you are an eligible user and have not received account log-in details, please contact support@ericchelpdesk.org.

What is the ERICC Conceptual Framework?
The ERICC conceptual framework is a multi-disciplinary, systematic frame to better understand how education systems and processes affect children’s outcomes in conflict and protracted crisis settings. What is the timeline for delivery of request responses?
We strive to provide the most timely and relevant support possible. Response times vary depending on the category of service required and may range from 10 to 90 working days. A timeline for your response will be determined during a scoping call following submission of your request.
Who will answer my request?
Our Helpdesk roster includes over 50 highly skilled experts and senior specialist researchers based across 15 countries in the Global North and South. Our team’s combined expertise, working knowledge, and experience covers 20 countries and over 30 education specific areas.
Who do I contact if I am experiencing technical difficulties submitting my request?

How is the Helpdesk funded, and what are the associated costs for users?
The provision of Helpdesk services is made possible through the generous support of the FCDO. As a result, users can access and benefit from our services without incurring any direct expenses.
